Cause and Effect

Dicky, Huang Yu Shu

Global warming has been or still is a very hot issue since Al Gore’s film “ an Inconvenient Truth”, and this is a issue everyone living in this would all should concern. From the article by Francis Zwiers and Gabriele Hegerl[1] of this issue is trying to refute Rosenzweig and colleagues’ point of view. Rosenzweig thinks that greenhouse gases produced by human induced climate change, but F. Z and G. H think Rosenzweig used the inappropriate statistic analysis. I also have something would like to share on this issue.

First, biological impacts resulting from climate changes is not an evidence that human cause the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases, but a signal shows that we should put more emphasis on solutions for global warming. Both Rosenzweig and F.Z and G.H are trying to understand the link between impacts and warming. As far as I know, it is no doubt that human cause global warming. All sentient beings, inclusive of human, living on the earth should be on the equal status, and no one is better than others. Instead of protecting animals from danger when they are facing trouble, we should keep our environment well before the worse day come.

Second, it is not appropriate to discuss research methods in NATURE. Every researcher has his or her own reason and limitation to decide what methods is good for the research purpose. F.Z and G.H should not only pick up the method but also have some analysis or experiment against Rosenzweig’s research—otherwise this article is just a pseudoscience.

It can not be denial that people always see things through their own glasses, thus everyone should not judge each other before we know each other holistically. Put yourself on other’s shoes and be humble, and the world you can see is wider.
